Our Green Policy

The Team at the Ascot Park Hotel recognise that the future of the environment is reliant on every one of us playing a part in the preservation of the natural resource.

We are pleased that you have chosen to use the Ascot Park Hotel and we ask that you help us in preserving our local environment by being mindful of the actions we take to reduce our impact on the environment.

• We Re-Cycle: - Toner Cartridges, E Waste, Cardboard, Paper, Aluminium, Tin. Plastic, Waste Oil, Soap and Food scraps.
• In many cases our kitchen prepares dishes from scratch ensuring that waste is kept to a minimum
• We buy our products whenever possible from local suppliers, which  supports employment in our community and reduces distances goods must travel to reach us.
• We offer conference guests the opportunity to green their conference.
• We actively encourage our team to turn off lights when leaving conference rooms, you may wish to do the same  
• We donate the profits of our business back to the community through the Invercargill Licensing Trust. This equates to many hundreds of thousands of dollar annually.  
• Many members of our team are actively involved in giving back to the community through community based events, theatrical productions and coaching in sport.  
• Featured art in our Hotel rooms helps create an awareness of the natural beauty that can be found in Southland and Fiordland.  
• We sponsor community events many which showcase the natural beauty of Southland

The management team is committed to review its operations on an ongoing basis to ensure that we continually improve our efforts to be more eco friendly for the good of our Hotel, Invercargill, Southland, and the rest of the world.
